Apple quietly upgraded the AirPort Extreme Base Station so it now includes Gigabit Ethernet ports instead of the 10/100 ports found on earlier models. The new AirPort Extreme Base Station includes three local network ports, and one WAN port that support Gigabit Ethernet speeds. It also includes the shared USB 2.0 port found on the Base Station it replaces, and continues to support the older 802.11a, b, and g standards. Apple's 802.11n-compatible AirPort Extreme Base Station is still priced at US$179.
